What to Expect

We strive to be a holy people who revere God and His Word; who constantly stir one another on to Christlikeness; and who live before the face of God in every aspect of our lives. As such, our corporate gatherings must serve this purpose.

Expository Preaching

We believe the right preaching of God’s Word is a means of grace to Christ’s sheep. This means we seek to faithfully exposit the whole counsel of God as we preach verse by verse through various books of the Bible.

Holy Awe

We strive to maintain a reverence and healthy view of God’s holiness as we gather and therefore seek to avoid an environment of shallow entertainment.

Joyful Affections

We believe joy to be essential to the Christian life and therefore we seek to cultivate godly affections within us that move us to a greater joy in the Lord over what God has done in Jesus Christ.

Collective Family

We believe that all this is best done as a collective family and therefore we do not segregate ourselves – whether in corporate worship or mid-week – based on various demographics (e.g. age, interests etc.) but rather stay as a family unit wherever possible as we worship and live worshipful lives together.

Whole lives

We gather on Sundays to sing, pray, hear God’s Word preached, partake in the Sacraments, and stir one another on, so that this would shape the remainder of our weeks and our whole lives to be full of holy awe and joyful affections toward Christ.

Prayerfulness

We believe prayer to be essential to the life of a local church. Therefore, we reserve our Wednesday night gathering specifically to pray as a church family. We do not see this gathering as an optional addition to discipleship within the church, but rather we see it just as an oxygen tank is essential to a scuba-diver. Collective prayer is one of our primary means of communion with God and wherever this is seen as an optional extra to church life, the church disconnects from its source of oxygen.

Evangelism & the Free Offer of the Gospel

We believe in the free offer of the gospel to all people and have great assurance that those who belong to the Lord will hear and respond to this offer in faith. Similar to prayer, evangelism is essential to a faithful church since a fundamental identity of the church is to be witnesses to what Christ has done. Therefore, many from the church seek to gather every 2nd Saturday in public to intentionally share this gospel message to all people who are willing to hear.
